Papermaking Workshop
Immerse yourself in the time-honoured craft of papermaking, reimagined for a resource-constrained world. Exploring the limits of waste materials, you’ll be expertly guided to transform an array of textile offcuts, flowers, plants and vegetable scraps into beautiful and delicate paper creations.
Book NowPAPERMAKING WORKSHOP
Papermaking originated in ancient China; plant fibres were soaked, pressed and dried. Paying homage to this artisanal practise, this workshop shows you how to create your own sustainable stationary from locally-sourced waste.
All materials will be provided, but feel free to bring some flora from your garden to add to your creation. You'll take home a bespoke sheet of handmade paper the next day. The workshop will cover off pulp-making techniques, forming, couching and drying so that you have the knowledge to try it yourself at home.
Located within the Makers House (Level 4), this workshop is held in a uniquely circular space. The fit-out utilises materials repurposed from the Hanover House building. Accommodating all ages and abilities, this is a fantastic team-building opportunity for those working within retail and design or for anyone interested in creativity and craft.
