What is BETA By STH BNK?
BETA By STH BNK is an experimental event series, transforming an abandoned city building into a dynamic ecosystem of multi-sensory, immersive experiences. Unlike anything Melbourne has ever experienced, world-class collaborators and pivotal creative voices come together to delve into the ideas that will shape tomorrow.
Where are the BETA By STH BNK events being held?
All of the BETA By STH BNK events will be housed over three levels at our bespoke site, Hanover House. Come find us at 158 City Road, Southbank.
How long is BETA By STH BNK on for?
BETA By STH BNK opens in July 2021 and runs until December 2021.
When will the program be announced?

Is BETA By STH BNK child-friendly?
While we want everyone to feel welcome at Hanover House, some of our events are not recommended for children. This will be signposted on the individual event page under the ‘Notes’ section. Please note that events which serve alcohol are only suitable for those aged 18 and above.

Can I film and photograph at events?
Yes, take as many videos and photos within the venue and at events as you like. Feel free to tag @BETA.STHBNK if sharing on social. Please be mindful of the privacy of other guests and courtesy to any speakers/talent. Publishing any footage of events for commercial purposes is not permitted without prior consent from the BETA By STH BNK organisers.

I won’t be able to attend events in person. Is there a way I can still participate in BETA By STH BNK?
Yes. Many of our events will be live-streamed or shared online after the fact. You can sign up to our newsletter, or follow us on Instagram and Facebook to stay up-to-date.
COVID-19
How is BETA By STH BNK being COVID-Safe?
We are committed to delivering a COVID-safe event for guests, collaborators and staff with respect to the guidelines issued by the Victorian Government and the Department of Health. Find out what we’re doing here.
How are you keeping the venue COVID-Safe?
We are working closely with the Victorian Government and the Department of Health to deliver a COVID-Safe event for everyone. At ticketed events, we stagger or time entries. Throughout the venue and at all times we are managing capacities and implementing contact tracing protocols. We have installed sanitiser stations and physical-distancing floor markers throughout the venue. We are also using 100% digital tickets and cashless payments to limit handling. Do I have to wear a mask?
BETA By STH BNK is following government advice and guidelines. Currently, Victorians are required to carry a mask and wear it in certain situations. We’ll update you on the conditions of entry via your pre-event email and on the COVID-Safe page.
How is BETA By STH BNK managing contact tracing?
All guests are required to check-in at venues via a QR code. It’s a condition of entry to Hanover House that you complete the questionnaire before being granted entry to the venue.
What happens if I can’t attend because I am unwell or need to self-isolate after a COVID-19 test? Can I get a refund or an exchange?
We urge you to please stay home if you, or someone you are in contact with, is unwell. You will be entitled to a refund if you, a member of your booking party, or someone you’ve been in contact with, exhibits symptoms of COVID-19 after you make your booking and prior to the event. The symptoms of COVID-19 include fever, chills or sweats, cough, sore throat, shortness of breath, runny nose or loss of sense of smell. You must contact BETA as soon as possible via tickets.beta@sthbnk.com after displaying symptoms or coming into contact with someone displaying symptoms. We will not be able to provide a refund if you contact us after the event.
What happens if we go into a lockdown? Will you refund or reschedule tickets?
We may need to postpone or cancel events due to COVID-19, but you will either be refunded or the event will be rescheduled. We'll keep you informed via email.
Will you provide masks and hand sanitiser?
We have hand sanitiser stations set up throughout Hanover House. Please bring your own mask.
I have a medical exemption from wearing a mask. Can I attend?
You don’t have to wear a mask if you have a medical exemption. You must be able to provide proof of exemption if asked.
TICKETING
What does allocation exhausted mean?
It means that we don’t have any available tickets left for that event. You can sign up to our newsletter, or follow us on Instagram and Facebook to stay up-to-date on ticket releases.
Can I buy a ticket in person on the day?
No. Tickets can only be booked online until the allocation has been exhausted. You can book on the individual event pages here.
How will I get my ticket?
As part of our sustainability and COVID-Safe practices, we are using 100% digital tickets. You will receive a booking confirmation to your email address immediately after booking an event. You will receive your digital ticket 48 hours prior to the event. If you have not received your digital ticket within this 48 hour window prior to the event please email tickets.beta@sthbnk.com.
Do you offer concession tickets?
We offer concession tickets for Full Time Students and Pension Cards for some events. Please note that concession pricing isn’t available for every event. Ensure you bring your proof of concession with you to show when asked. You can find out more about concession tickets on the individual event pages here.
What happens if I’ve booked an event but can no longer attend?

Is my ticket transferable?
Depending on availabilities, we may be able to transfer your ticket. Please email tickets.beta@sthbnk.com.

ACCESSIBILITY
Is BETA By STH BNK and Hanover House wheelchair accessible?
We aim to make all guests, staff and collaborators feel welcome at BETA By STH BNK events. There is a wheelchair access ramp at the entry and wheelchair accessible lifts within the building, but please note that due to narrow areas within the venue, this event requires assisted access for wheelchair users and those with restricted mobility. If you have accessibility requirements we encourage you to book a free companion ticket, so that a carer or friend can assist you throughout the building. Please email tickets.beta@sthbnk.com to book.
Is there accessible parking near the venue?
Wilson Parking at 2 Freshwater Place, Southbank is approximately 3 minutes from the venue and has a number of designated disabled bays. The Arts Centre Melbourne Car Park is approximately 10 minutes from the venue and has wheelchair accessible parking available on the lower level.
Is there an accessible drop off point near the venue?
There is no formal drop off area onsite, however there is a small break in parking with curb cut access on STREET, which can be used for quick drop offs if needed.
Does Hanover House have an accessible entrance?
There is a wheelchair access ramp at the entry of the building and wheelchair accessible lifts within the building.
Does Hanover House have accessible bathrooms?
Accessible bathrooms are located on Level 4 and Level 5 of the building.
What are the closest accessible public transport stops?
Nearest accessible train stop: Flinders Street Station is approximately 10 minutes from the venue and is fully wheelchair accessible. Nearest accessible tram stop: Tram Stop 115 (Casino/Southbank/Queens Bridge St) is approximately 5 minutes from the venue and is a low level access stop. This stop is partially serviced by low-floor trams. Visit ptv.vic.gov.au to find out if your tram route has low floor trams.
