Grant associates join aspect studios in landscaping team

We are delighted to announce, Grant Associates and ASPECT Studios as the project’s landscape architects.

As momentum builds on our unprecedented STH BNK By Beulah development, we are delighted to announce world-renowned urban design practice Grant Associates and international design practice, ASPECT Studios as the project’s landscape architects.

STH BNK By Beulah marks the first Melbourne-based project for Grant Associates, who are internationally renowned for designing Gardens by the Bay in Singapore. They join locally based studio design practice ASPECT Studios in bringing our project to life.

Both Grant Associates and ASPECT Studios are aligned in Beulah’s strong values of collaboration. They work closely with UNStudio, Cox Architecture, global design and engineer firm, Arup, along with ‘living infrastructure’ specialists Junglefy, to create the green spaces proposed in the winning concept from the 2018 STH BNK By Beulah architecture competition.

Envisioning a scheme that merges seamlessly with Southbank Boulevard, the landscape design centres around the planted vertical facades and outdoor spaces that will create the world’s tallest vertical garden, rising from street level to the top of both towers.

The towers will pay homage to Victoria, known as the Garden State, symbolically bridging the iconic Royal Botanic Gardens with Melbourne’s Arts Precinct through this series of outdoor spaces and green devices.

This landscaping proposal challenges industry pre-conceptions by offering a new vision of the public space, in an attractive, desirable sequence that promises to appeal to residents and visitors.

When completed, this will include Future Sky Garden, an expansive, usable conservatory space at the top of the tallest tower. Meanwhile, extended planted terraces characterise the facing facades of the two towers as they twist towards each other, connecting people to nature.

A visual beacon for the future of green skyscrapers, the towering vertical garden will push the boundaries of flora-infused buildings. Healthy city living will be achieved through attracting local birdlife, sequestering CO2 and producing an abundance of oxygen, while filtering dust and pollutants from the air, improving oxygen levels in the towers and surrounding areas.
