Beulah takes part in 2021 sustainability summit panel

The sustainability awards

The Sustainability Awards, now in its 15th year, will feature five sessions that explore and analyse various aspects of sustainability, from energy consumption to a building’s life cycle, on November 11, 2021. Session Two, entitled Designing the Perfectly Sustainable Building, will discuss how to develop the most concise sustainable building designs for the urban environment.

The panel comprises experts each bringing a diverse perspective to the table, including Beulah’s own Senior Development Manager Luke Thornton, who alongside five other panelists, will discuss architectural and structural design tools to facilitate the inclusion of ecological costing, while improving the uptake of environmentally sustainable technologies and applications.

Responsible for end-to-end development management, Luke provides leadership support to the wider Beulah development team, using his unique experience in curating boutique and large city-shaping projects, from bespoke hyper luxury homes to supertall towers, to solve complex challenges.

The session will be moderated by Environa Studio’s Tone Wheeler, who says, “I think this session will explore a change, another orientation, from being about the metrics of energy and water to the measurement of human well-being and happiness. The reason why you build and occupy buildings is sometimes forgotten. Making a perfectly performing building is only good if it addresses people enjoying, using and participating in the building.”
