FUTURE FROM WASTE LAB 'WASTEFEST'

The event saw four emerging and talented designers occupy the Future From Waste Lab studio during Melbourne Fashion Week between 10th and the 15th October 2022.

These emerging designers - Amber Kennedy, Lilli McKenzie, Paulina Zamorano and Carol Yang - had been carefully selected by our Creative Director and partners: Kit Willow, Artclub by Heidi Middleton and Beulah - and occupied the Future From Waste Lab in a Project Runway-style event.

The designers created a head-to-toe fashion outfit using reclaimed post-consumer textiles during the week, assisted by the team from the Future From Waste Lab throughout the process.

Throughout the week, the public were invited to experience this experimental sustainable fashion event and see the creations come to life in our daily Open Studios.

The Future From Waste Lab WasteFest event culminated in a 'Wrap Party' on Saturday 15th October 2022 to celebrate the event, with an evening of fashion, music and drinks with the team and designers, plus showcasing the final designer outfits to the public.
